I don't know if you remember me but I was a student in your 2009 CIIS class and I had yet to finish my touch drawing paper. Well here it is! The finial document of my academic life. I hope you enjoy. I will also be sending this paper to Jack Weller and I assume he will be the liason for the change of status paper work I have to do now. Thank you so much for offering the class and I hope to participate in another workshop soon.
Hi Deborah, I'm new here. Will you be having workshops in the near future? Or, do you know of anyone in the NY area who is leading a workshop or would like to get together and do TD? I tried looking for upcoming dates/workshops/& members in the NY area but couldn't find any. Thank you.
Deborah,
I have spent a lot of time exploring your work. I really feel drawn to learn more about touch drawing. I find many of the things you do, I already do, but didn't realize there was a 'name' to techniques I have incorporated into my own drawing styles. I emailed the folks at Window Between Worlds to get more information on their training. I found their website when I first realized I wanted to educate others and do workshop settings to help people overcome pain and I really didn't revist it until you mentioned it. I think what they do is amazing and I really would like to learn more and be a part of them. I want to try out some touch drawing of my own this weekend, lurk around on this site for a bit, and then dip my feet in the water of staring a discussion/group about using this medium for healing of victims of violence! THanks for all your feedback :)
Hi Deborah,
I am so happy to be introduced to Touch Drawing! I am an artist--and a painter, but I often use my hands to blend and incorporate freeing type line in my pieces. And everytime I do that I always think to myself "no wonder fingerpainting as a child was so much fun!! I want to learn more about touch drawing and hope to incorporate it into a workshop setting for victims of abuse.
Thanks
Concerning the gathering in Europe.
For that 1 time you come to Europe, a weekend would be more interesting to get some depth, then just a taste of it ... especially for coaches that already work creative or with your cards. I know quiet a few of them.
Europe - perhaps is small according to USA measurements - but every single country has it's own language, culture, school, ...So I even think that it would be possible in my school 'de kleine tiki' (the little tiki) in Antwerp, belgium - where I follow my training as artistic coach - that in this school there would be a lot of interested trainers & coaches-to-be to fill a weekend workshop. ... It's all a question of good networking and PR ... depending of how many people you need for 1 weekend-workshop to make it economically for all parties .. I could inform within our school, whether or not there are possibilities for it. the weekend of 19 + 20 dec would be perfect in Belgium because school holidays start, and it isn't Xmas yet. The first weekend of jan. is the last of the holidays. ... those whom are really interested will keep it free for the workshop. 10+11 jan. are optional ok as well, but in Belgium everybody is working in normal routine again from 5 jan.
..; i think you could easily fill 2 weekends .. perhaps 3, but not on just 1 place as Amsterdam, you really should come south a bit more .. to belgium f.e. Antwerp is very near to the dutch border ;-)
Good morning Deborah, thank you for your comment and this information! Amsterdam is really near from here, so i think about it.
Is there anywhere more information about this workshop?
Thanks Deborah, I am really looking forward to this gathering too! It has been 3 years since I learned about Touch Drawing and told my self "one day......". It is such a great feeling that "one day" is finally here! This trip is my exciting big adventure. I can hardly wait to see how it all unfolds......................
Many Blessings,
Lisa
Hi Deborah,
Thank you for your welcome. I am really excited to meet you and others at the gathering. I look forward to the experience of touch drawing in a workshop setting, networking with those that are using td in their work and having lots of fun!
Hi Deborah,
Feeling much better now, thank you. I definitely missed not being with everyone also, but the extra time seemed to help in recovery. I actually used the 'down' time to connect with a place in Exeter, RI called Camp Canonicus which I'm hoping to rent space from for a TD weekend with a small group of people. I need to generate a bit more PR first to see if I might be able to accomplish this before Summer's end. Definitely need to gather more supplies first, but I'll keep you posted. This is going to be an incredibly blessed year & I love the activity taking place here within this community, I feel very fortunate to be a small part of it. Talk with you soon.
Much Love, Tanya
the presentation is mid September, and I understand how busy you must be.
I am going to practice the technique as TD may more practical for the non critical care units. At the very least, I would like to create examples of TD,perhaps a gallery of pictures to familiarize health care professionals with the therapeutic
benefits. Thanks so much. I look forward to your reply at a later date.
The other day I saw you on youtube, and I´ll try to do my first TD, I had the painted experience. But this requires no pencil, just fingertips and deep sesation. So beautiful
