Hi Deborah Thanks for the reply. I will update my profile as it happens. I am meeting a lady tomorrow who I may be renting a room from for Touch Drawing. The first set i did was a bit rough as i had to use tools that were available to me at the time. A beautiful Star Flower came to me and spoke to me. I was born with many Angels guiding me and I am very into vibrational healing, flower essences, Angel Essences, Star Essences. I am going to incorporate essnces as well to bring in the energy of the particpants Angelic guides. I will download a pic of the flower for you.

love and light and thank you so much for allowing me to share this wonderful experience.

Hi Deborah,

Thanks so much for your comment. I attended the weekend workshop you taught at Naropa, and although I studied art therapy at the time, I think I somehow missed your shorter presentation to the art therapy students. It was a memorable weekend for me and reminded me of the many gifts waiting to be discovered in myself. Thank you, also, for the reminder that people will only access or recognize what they are ready for. Some affirmation and trust in the spirit of Touch Drawing is in order for me as I begin to share the process with others. I look forward to seeing how it continues to unfold.

Best wishes and many thanks,

Sara

As I said it was a special like discovery or something like that. It was quite a while back when I saw it and perhaps it was like 20/20. I usually try and watch shows previewing different things going on in the world. I will inquire about the NY class. I have a limited income so depending on cost will be the deciding factor unless you have sliding scales.
Thanks Krida

Hi Deborah!
I wanted to thank you for the facilitator handbook that arrived in the mail yesterday! I already read through it once and can't wait to get started. My first group will be adolescents with whom I work in a therapeutic boarding school setting. We've done a lot of other EA processes through an on-going group that I facilitate, but this winter block will be my first introducing Touch Drawing to them. I only have 90 minutes with them during any given group, but can use multiple sessions out of the 10 week series focusing on Touch Drawing if I want to.

I also want to thank you for having the vision for this wonderful forum and making it happen in order for us to connect with others who love and feel the power of Touch Drawing. I haven't been very active on the site as of late, but I visit frequently to get inspiration and to feel the connection with others who do this work.

Deborah, can you please share with me, is it you who I am supposed to go through to learn more about this, or could I ask Marion to have a session with her, to learn, and get trained to facilitate?

Thank you for your time!

Hi Deborah, I am going to cut and paste what I just told Patricia about art school.

Art school is interesting. I thought I was the happiest camper in the world, and I definitely do love doing the "art" stuff. However, I am definitely having a problem with some of the lectures and the propoganda that's being taught to the students. It would be great if Universities actually taught critical thinking and to challenge what our media and institutions are teaching. However, they know where their money comes from. I am also much more into using art as expression and learning about ones self, as opposed to learning what to do that will 'make it' or 'sell." Tonight I am starting a 9 week Zen Brushwork Meditation course and that excites me more actually. I am also taking African drumming lessons and just love it. So, I'm not even sure I will go next semester. Really doing some internal searching right now. However, I don't regret it for a minute, I would have always wondered.

Deborah, I still haven't caught up with Tracy yet. I will try to email her again when I get back from visiting up north. We are waiting for the grandson to be born and I will hop a plane as soon as Ruth's contractions start. I can't wait to go, sitting on pins and needles here. Very exciting.

On November 4th I do a presentation in a First Nations community and will talk with them about the Touch Drawing. There will be Chief and Council, administration and band members. Maybe I can write a proposal to bring you up. I'll let you know how it goes. The CEO says she wants to do alot more art, music and cultural activities.

Hope all is well and talk to you soon. Love to you. Ellen

Yes Flay and Mark are dear friends of mine now too, because of the PE. Flay has been teaching with us and we always stay with them when we are down. Hannah I met first at Power of Hope on Cortes. I know I have me you too with our daughter on the Cortes Ferry once. Small world and getting smaller. And Islanders always find an affinity with other islanders.

I also live in the Comox Valley in the winter as my daughter is in College here, so we are back and forthing a lot. My power didn't go out here last night as it did on Cortes, I love that!

Thanks for the invitation to compare these two forms. Unfortunately I haven't yet had enough experience with touch drawing to do that which much knowledge yet. I understand from Kathleen Horne who has done both that they are similar in the sense of being process oriented but of course different in application. I can talk more knowledgeably about the PE. We are working in pure process painting where there is no interest in the product, we don't share our paintings, we talk instead about the process and the inner journey. We encourage free expression, which means removing judgments, so we create an atmosphere of complete non judgment which means no one can comment on anyone else's work. This brings people into a profound relationship with their inner experience because without the external approval or critique, we get to hear how we are organized and what our belief structures are and how we stop ourselves.

We paint in silence in our own process working only with the facilitator with discussions taking place in group time once a day.

We create a large work space so that paintings can get big, if the image wants to move off the paper in any direction we add paper. So we are not limited to one piece of paper (as I believe you aren't in TD but I believe you don't necessarily connect one paper to the next), and we stand so there is room for lots of body involvement. The process can be very physical and we ground it in the body and in feelings and listen to energy, intuition, natural impulses to move with. And art in this way definitely transcends the medium into the spiritual, which feels like a strong component of TD as well. PE can be a very life changing experience, especially for those attending 5 day or 10 day workshops, our minimum time is 2 1/2 days, although 3 hour classes happen sometimes as well.

I get the sense just from viewing your website and seeing Kathleen's video on processing grief and some of the work that you are doing in groups, that it has many similarities in terms of the way it touches and moves us deeply, and connects us to spirit, but has different applications.

I look forward to experiencing touch drawing more and furthering this discussion.

Yes I know Deborah. I know lots of your Whidbey Island friends on Cortes. I also visit Whidbey Island every April when we offer The Painting Experience there. And we have some good friends Claudia and Chuck Pettis who live there and where my husband David often visits them, in fact he will be there next week, he is designing there home. And David knows Ross and I think they have some shared work experience. Lots of connection. Hope you get to Cortes again soon.

You know what, I really just forgot about the call, I ended up going to a spur-of-the-moment bale art meeting and didn't get home until 8pm or so. I tried to use my phone when I got home and it was completely dead. I think the little guy had left it on and that could be why it was busy. I'm feeling scattered and am sorry to have missed yet another call, especially now since I am available. DANG!!!!
