Tinky: Hello from Maine. I find your career very interesting. A friend from work is a musician and is interested in Music Therapy. I am trained as an art teacher but currently work as an Ed Tech III at a private school with emotional/behavioral and autistic children. I first discovered Touch Drawing when I was in grad school at John F. Kennedy University. My degree was in Arts & Consciousness with a specialization in transformative arts education. We used art to explore who we where and ways to work with art in the community. I have strayed a bit. I want to get back to this type of work, particularly for myself.

I love Charlotte. I taught for three years in Wallace, SC. It was about an 1 1/2 drive from Cheraw, SC where I lived. Thinking about return to North Carolina. The art teacher market for me has not been very successful.

Hey, Tinky! Welcome! That story of the kid who opened up after T.D. is amazing! Sounds like he might like to go into what my husband and I went into: car design! But, loving cars, and being an artist separately is cool, too.......... and less stressful! Anyway, glad to have you here on the online community!

Share a special experience with Touch Drawing or SoulCards.
I did a session with some abused children in Charlotte and after the session, there was a little boy that came up and said he liked it. I found out later it was the first time he had talked since he had been at the facility. He now draws cars all the time and wants to be an artist!

Not yet but I plan to.
