Back in 1996 I had attended an open ritual with a friend
of mine at Samhain. I had just completed my thesis and passed with a B
for my graduate degree (a huge relief as I picked a topic at the time
that was difficult to write on) and was interviewing for positions as a
social worker in New Mexico which was as far a distance from Michigan
where I had spent all but four months of my life that I could go
