Touch Drawings as Art Objects

Discussions will revolve around TD as both a sensible and supersensible art process, touch drawings as art objects made to be displayed, and TD as taught in a school setting as an art practice that expands students’ art-making abilities.

What brings you to an interest in Touch Drawing or SoulCards?

It is such an amazing process! I am interested in it for my own personal use and I hope to teach it in my classroom to my students next year.

My experience applies to:

Art, Creativity, Education, Spiritual, Intuitive, Children, Teens, Health, Meditation, Expressive Arts, Creative Art Therapy

Other areas of interest & experience

I have been an art teacher for the past 13 years (mostly middle school aged kids) In my own work, I tend towards 2D acrylic paintings. I also love collage and making things out of found objects.

Initially, from a class I took at the Omega Institute in New York

Just to friends so far, but I hope to introduce it to my students soon!

Share a special experience with Touch Drawing or SoulCards.

I almost feel like every experience with touch drawing is special because it is a process unlike any other! I love how I can tap into deep places when drawing. the process is so freeing to me.

Do you facilitate SoulCards with others?

Is there anything else you would like us to know about you?

Besides art, I am also a BIG music fan...from Altan to Zeppelin and everything in-between. I am very interested in sound healing as well, and the connection of art and music.

BUT, I am very happy that you contacted me because I would love to come visit you in Northhampton sometime. I would love to collaborate on some art! Your storefront residency looks like so much fun!!! What a great set up. The mural is fab! You'll have to let me kow if you are ever in the Boston area too. I am heading back to full time public scool teaching soon. Next week is my last "free" week. If I get a last minute travel bug, maybe I will come up and visit. As far as the paper goes- good luck finding some!
