What brings you to an interest in Touch Drawing or SoulCards?
I have an intense desire to create as an inner growth & spiritual practice, but feel my lack of innate "traditional" talent leaves me frustrated and blocked. I am intrigued about using methods which flow from my heart and soul through my fingers instead of through my mind and self imposed expectations of "good" & "right" creating.
How did you find out about the Touch Drawing Community?
Read on the East West bookstore website about a Touch Drawing workshop being held there in Jan. 2013, and was intrigued about an artistic practice I was not familiar with, so I then went onto the website and am very interested in trying it!
Have you facilitated Touch Drawing?
In what setting have you facilitated?
Small groups for a national stay-at-home mothering support organization, small groups for Compassionate Friends (child loss support group).
Laurie, it is up to you about trying it on your own. It may go wonderfully. the workshop of course is helpful for starting and feeling the group support and more detailed demo from me. You can try the audio TD gGuided Experience and a kit. And don't put so much paint on the board that it is 'goopy' just a thin smooth layer. That the one thing that makes a difference, and just having the right materials.
Welcome Laurie - you are right near by! Touch Drawing fits what you are looking for - a high percentage of people who try it feel 'unconfident' about their artistic skills and find it provides a powerful portal of expression fro Soul levels. I hope you can make it to the workshop at East West. i am also giving one Dec 15 on Whidbey island. We are getting sort of full, but still ;possible if you want. East west will be great, though, too. L I love the energy there, and the support they give us.
