What brings you to an interest in Touch Drawing or SoulCards?
I first became aware of Deborah's SoulCards when I worked at Banyen Books where we sold her cards. I was drawn to the images but could not interpet them at first. Since Deborah has been posting questions on facebook re interpeting the cards I have been more and more drawn to the images. I see so much more in the images as I spend time with them and take the time to respond to her posts.
My experience applies to:
Art, Creativity, Spiritual, Intuitive, Children, Teens, Abuse, Childbirth, Grief, Meditation, Expressive Arts, Other
Other areas of interest & experience
I am an emerging Aboriginal poet with a long standing interest in divination.
Have you done Touch Drawing?
No but I plan to
How did you find out about the Touch Drawing Community?
From Deborah's face book page.

Share a special experience with Touch Drawing or SoulCards.
I recently did a reading for a woman I meet on facebook. She is an artist herself and saw that I was using the Soul Cards on my website. She asked me for a reading. Since I am new to the cards I was a bit nervous but agreed knowing it would afford me some learning.

Prior to giving her the reading I sent her a copy of the image and asked her to send me her immediate thoughts on the card. I had intended to weave her words or thoughts into the reading but she had other ideas. She wanted to involve her husband who does readings of another nature. They both put their immediate reactions to the card in an email. She asked me not to read them but rather to send mine to her by email as well so could all read each reading at the same time (over the phone).

I had some resistance to this as I had hoped to weave her thoughts into my reading. She was very wise to ask for this as I found out that I could do an extensive reading; that yes, the thoughts flowed easily. These cards really spark something in me. Later that day we all talked on the phone and read what each other had written. There was definitely some common ground. Where there was not common ground was of great interest to me. They saw things I did not see and it made the reading that much fuller.

Once the call ended we went back over each others readings adding comments (that weaving I had wanted). It took the reading even farther and I got to experience the weaving of the various thoughts or insights. The messages just got deeper and deeper; there was more clarity that came of this.

It was an amazing experience. Rich with possibility and involved the person getting the reading in an empowering way. I fully support anything that assists others in improving their ability to intuit for themselves.
Do you facilitate SoulCards with others?
If so, with whom and how?
I have a website where I feature a monthly Soul Card reading (with permission from Deborah). I have just started to work with the cards and would like to use these cards to do readings for individuals. They are magical works of art. I am still experimenting with how to do this as it helps to have time to sit with the image which does not necessarily work face to face. Perhaps readings by email where I could send the person the image, allow them time to digest it. Maybe even ask for their thoughts on the card before I proceed with the reading.

~ my july reading ~ also posted on my website at ~

I was delighted when I pulled this card. To me it says joy ~ joy ~ joy!

The green background speaks of new life, springtime, the return of leaves and the opening blossoms. The blue on the card represents the life giving nature of water; the force behind all life. I also see playful times as a child, in the bath tub, at the beach or the running through the summer sprinkler with the squeals of joy that only a child seems to experience.…

One interpetation

Soul Cards are a welcome addition to my website ( In the words of Deborah Koff-Chapin:

May these images serve as an inspiration in the remembrance of who you are.

Every person will see something different in these cards and please feel free to spend some time with the image. I encourage you to see what resonates for you. This image brought a lot up…

What I suggested is that you represent yourself in this community vie posting your readings on your blog. then people see that they are from you. Also, I know you understand that i don't want to put one reading out there as 'the' interpretation of a card. i LOVE your interpretations, but must remain neutral in that regard. So yes - I am suggesting some loving self-promotion offerings from you for our community! If you start posting them, i can ad you to the featured members list. I like to do this for peope who are particularly active or posting strong content.

I know; it is weird - we live in a self-promotional world! but thingk of it as an offering of love to the world!
