Sarah, You're entirely Welcome!
Wow, I just read your piece on TD in prison....Incredible. I will definitely be following the process, thank you.
As far as using other materials, I tend to stay with either the black or sienna oil paints for Touch Drawing. But I have experimented with quite a few materials after mounting them. My favorite is to mount the drawings on plywood and then embellish the drawings with just a hint of either watercolor or pastels. I then embellish some of the pieces with found objects from nature: sticks, pebbles, shells, sea glass, etc. Each piece is entirely different, but because I like the primal and etheral feel of Touch Drawing...I tend to stay with earth tones & materials.
THANKS, TANYA!!! I POSTED A SHORT STORY ABOUT USING TD IN PRISON - I GUESS THE IMPACT IS PRETTY UNIVERSAL BUT SINCE INCARCERATED WOMEN HAVE SO VERY LITTLE GOING ON IN THE WAY OF MEANINGFUL/HELPFUL COUNSELING, ETC, THE CHANCE TO SIT WITH IMAGES THAT ARISE FROM THEIR OWN SOUL AND WRITE TO/FROM/ABOUT THE IMAGES AS WELL AS THE EXPERIENCE OF THEIR EMERGENCE . . . IS NOTHING SHORT OF INCREDIBLE.
THANKS TOO FOR YOUR WARM WORDS OF WELCOME. AND SINCE YOU INVITE - HAVE YOU EXPERIENCE USING OTHER INKS/PAINTS? AN ARTIST FRIEND RECOMMENDS USING AKUA INTAGLIO INK. THOUGHTS?
