You are very articulate, Rachel. There are great words, too: "As for TD being a portal, I could feel that my first time to touch hand to paper. I felt invited in and it felt like home.".

Deborah, I would love for you to us the quote however you see fit. One of my favorite notions that you have brought to TD is the whole GIFT of it.... how accessible it is. I am very grateful for that and consider this a small reciprocation.

As for TD being a portal, I could feel that my first time to touch hand to paper. I felt invited in and it felt like home.

Rachel, Thank you so much for posting here. Can I have permission to use your wonderful quote about Touch Drawing? "The touching is not just about hands touching the page to create art, it is about the art touching the soul...and healing it." I am very touched by your experience of of touching your mother's face. Touch Drawing seems to provide a portal accessing the subtle realms.

I spent the day with my hubby, Eric. We been celebrating his birthday. The day ended with our first shared TD session. We connected with the energy of the full moon and let our hands dance out what wished to be expressed.  In the background, a CD played with music about the moon, divine feminine, opening to our greater self, gratitude, and love.  What a blessed day!  I share my art on my blog, but wanted to post my favorite here.

While I was doing it, I had a memory of my mother's face (which I have not seen in over 20 years). I felt like she was appearing on the page in front of me, inviting me to touch her face. That is the beauty of this practice. The touching is not just about hands touching the page to create art, it is about the art touching the soul...and healing it.  I am loving this practice.

Deborah, what a great venue for connecting to the moon. I will have to explore the hugging saint.  I have to admit that I am a bit envious of the cool events that happen in your area.  Texas is a bit different, but I always say if you can't find something to do that you love, create it.  I am so glad you synchronistically joined. It was a valuable session for me.

Rachel, thank you for re-energizing this group. it is interesting that without consciously doing so at the time, I was drawing at precisely the moment of the full moon...around 4 or  am on Sunday. I was at Ammachi's ( the hugging saint) all-night ceremony. this was the second year that I got permission to sit 'backstage' and draw. When Rachel posted, I realized this has also been when the moon was at its fullest.

I sat down with the Moon and let my hands dance over the page. My heart was experiencing a strange mixture of hopefulness and grief.  My cousin lost her husband this month last year. His passing was hard on us all.  I spent the day with their daughter, celebrating her graduation.  He was in our hearts and minds all day, as he should be. As I drew, I felt very close to the women in my family...to their strength and vulnerability. The images were sometimes crude, sometimes playful, and other times, wise and lovely. I adore them all.

I have uploaded this one and have more on my blog.  I hope others will begin to explore this practice. I would love to hear from you if you do.

Rachel, this group was active for a while but needs revitalization. Thanks for your energy! Maybe we send a notice out for the next full moon.

I love, love, LOVE the idea of blending moon work with TD.  I am sending energy to this group in hopes of a response.  Come out and play, sisters!

The moon is about to rise in Santa Cruz where I amwith my dear musical friends. My creative attunement this month is signing - last night and tonight, with Rob. he plays magical electronified strings and other creations. We go late into the night, opening to the music and the spirit that pours through it. We get together a cople of times a year, for three nights each time. It is a precious time. this round, I think the energy of the full moon is supporting us to find and more living impulse than we have ben able to access in a while. It feels like drinking at a deep and nourishing well. I am thinking of you all as we each open to this moment in our own ways. I also did a 'sound healing' session a couple of hours ago with another friend who lives here. It, too, felt more alive than ever. So it is my 'sound moon'.
