i am so sorry i wandered away! never my intention ofcourse....my gravestone, if there were to be one, would say "she meant well". LOL but i come back today in great physical pain of many days now: my chronic spine pain; hard to tell which area is the originating site this time around, cervical, thoracic or lumbar....they're all in on it together! i have a new internist now who does not stand in judgement of my experience of pain: there have been others who have done just that, telling me "oh, it's just...THIS...or it's just THAT..." with that kind of medical "care"?????, i would go to my TD board and all that would come to be were depictions of sorrow and anger.....actually today it will be a true challenge to even DO a TD because of pain: any looking down position charges everything up.....so it will be very quick touch drawings to be sure!

in the past, when i have felt i had no choice but to try to release the emotions that are engendered by chronic pain, i have done some of my most startling work....startling to ME ofcourse! (smile) these are the touch drawings that i must lay aside and look at much later in order to really SEE....

i don't think i am yet able to view TD as an adjunct therapy for pain management,but it certainly does play the part of a dear, trusted friend to whom i can turn when i am in pain and feeling overwhelmed.

i am going to do some work (TD) now and i will post the results on my page.

Welcome to the Touch Drawing and Pain Management Group! As an expressive arts therapist and licensed MFT, I have been using the arts as a form of pain management in the hospital and in private practice for several years now. However, my recent addition of Touch Drawing to the pain management process has been incredibly eye-opening and amazing. Touch Drawing adds an even deeper level to an already transformative process.
